HERE’S A FREE STORY FOR YOU ABOUT OLGA MEERSON, ARTIST, AND STUDENT OF HENRI MATISSE.
Welcome! I’m Drēma Drudge. The written word and I have been friends for ever, it seems. I’ve been writing in one capacity or another since I was nine, starting with terrible poems and graduating to melodramatic stories in junior high.
Mercifully, I eventually discovered that there are books, classes, and programs on writing and I learned how to write! Now I have an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University.
I’m the author of the novel Victorine, published by Fleur-de-Lis Press. It’s about a Parisian painter from the time of the Impressionists. In addition, I’ve just finished up a second novel while researching the next. (I heart researching.)
I’m married to the incomparable Barry Drudge, musician (and now writer) extraordinaire. We have two grown children, and we live in a charming small town in Indiana filled with plenteous, splendid, trees and wide Victorian homes.
In the past decade Barry and I have traveled the world extensively. My first novel ended up being written in six countries! I joke that my clothes jump into my suitcase when I whistle. As a result of the travel, I’ve ended up writing in some fascinating, gorgeous places, such as sitting in a pew in the Pantheon during lunch with my journal. I’ve visited the homes, birthplaces, and graves of many of my writing and art heroes and have often had the opportunity to write in or about those very places.
Hubby and I are cohosts of Writing All the Things, a fun podcast about all things writing.
